Both modes share one research core and one webapp. The only difference is whose machine that “engine” chip runs on.

Two ways to run it

Same analysis kernel, same webapp. The only difference: where the engine runs — on your machine or ours.

Runs on the coding plans you already have

Duegent doesn't sell inference. It drives the official CLI you are already signed in to, so the subscription you already bought does the research. Credentials never leave your machine.

From sign-up to first briefing

Ten minutes of homework. A year of holding.

  1. 1

    Tell Duegent what you hold

Paste holdings in plain language; Chinese names resolve too. Every change goes through a confirm card, and can be undone.

  2. 2

    Read the daily briefing

A scheduled briefing lands in your chat: computed signals, graded risk findings, a conservative Monte Carlo band. Every number carries a source and a timestamp.

  3. 3

    Audit the agent

Duegent records its bull/bear stance daily and grades itself 5 and 20 trading days later. The log is yours to inspect.

Not another chatbot wrapper

Ask a generic chatbot about a stock and you get vibes. Duegent grounds every conversation in things a chatbot doesn't have:

QUESTION COACH

One sharp question beats an afternoon of chat.

Answers are cheap. The question is the edge.

When you don't know what to ask, the research engine takes your rough question and guides you to a sharper, more valuable one.

01

Deterministic signals

RSI, MACD, trend, volatility: computed from market data, reproducible, with source + as-of on every figure. Not model guesses.

02

A public hit-rate

The agent's directional calls are logged and scored later. If it has been wrong, you see exactly how often.

03

An operator, not a talker

Recording, updating and removing holdings all happen in chat, with confirm cards and per-operation undo. A full audit trail.

04

Multi-market, CJK-native

US, Hong Kong, A-shares, Japan, Korea. Type a name like 腾讯 and it resolves to 0700.HK the moment you enter it. No silent guessing.

Covered markets

Holdings, pricing and technical signals cover these markets. Fundamentals, company events and insider trades come from SEC filings and are US-only; non-US positions price from the last close, and every report states which lanes have data and which are gaps.

Four planes, straight from the primary source

Ask an AI and you get paraphrase. Every number Duegent gives you is stamped with which official filing it came from and when.

Events

What the company itself filed

Read straight off the SEC 8-K filing index: earnings releases, executive changes, material agreements — each with its accession number and filing date, no news desk in between.

Insiders

What insiders actually did

The latest Form 4 filings parsed line by line: who, what role, bought or sold, how many shares. Only open-market trades count; grants and exercises are labelled as what they are.

Fundamentals

Annual plus latest quarter

10-K and 10-Q on two tracks: revenue, net income and EPS from the latest quarter with year-over-year; margins, ROE and valuation multiples from the latest annual report. Each one stamped with its source and date.

Sentiment

What retail and KOLs are saying

A six-figure decision shouldn't lose to one tweet you happened to scroll past. Reddit discussion volume and representative posts, each cited with author and link; X and KOL views require turning on web-enabled research. One-sided consensus is flagged as contrarian risk, not a signal to follow.

Plus four more lanes — technicals, macro backdrop, peer comparison, quotes. Every deep-research note opens with a coverage list telling you lane by lane what had data and what did not.

A research agent that learns you

Self-evolving

Most tools run the same prompt forever; a year in, nothing has changed. Duegent treats your usage as material: it gradually works out your habits and taste, and research starts reading like it was tuned for you.

Each lap = one evolution cycle. The profile only tunes delivery and emphasis — never predictions, and compliance rules are untouchable.

Every learned version sits in Settings in plain sight: inspect it, reset it, or switch the whole loop off. The profile tunes delivery and emphasis only; it never predicts, and it can never touch the compliance rules.

The methodology comes from our open-source agent-harness evolution engine PolyHarness ↗

We tested the prediction route first

We ran a pure technical signal on 145 sector-sampled names, rolled monthly across 24 runs and averaged — all four readings came in slightly below the base rate. That is exactly why we don't sell predictions: direction isn't what signals like this can give you; evidence is. The numbers are published as-is, so you know we're not hiding them.

Base rate = share of all evaluated windows that moved in the called direction (up for bull, down for bear). It's the score a coin-flip caller would get.

Method: 145 symbols on a rolling 3y daily window, evaluated every 5 trading days from day 250 (n≈13695 per vintage). So the conclusion can't hinge on which day the window happens to end, the same backtest is re-run at 24 monthly-spaced as-of dates (2024-08 to 2026-07); figures are the mean across them and ± is the across-vintage standard deviation. A hit = correct direction exactly 5/20 trading days later; signal stats only, no transaction costs.

Backtest results are historical statistics, not a promise of future performance, not investment advice.

Questions people actually ask

Is this investment advice?

No. Duegent is a research tool. It computes signals and organizes analysis with disclosed sources; it never tells you to buy or sell, and every output carries an AI-generated disclaimer.

Will it trade my account?

Never. We don't connect to brokers, never ask for credentials, and have no order capability — none of that code exists in the product. Broker import does exactly one thing: parse text you pasted in yourself.

Where does my portfolio data live?

On our servers, in one database alongside your chats, reports and memory — that is what makes memory, scheduled briefings, cross-device access and hit-rate auditing work. What Self-Host changes is the inference: research runs on your own machine, so your holdings are never sent to a third-party LLM we chose or pay for. Either way, you can export all of it or permanently delete your whole account whenever you want.

Which AI engines work?

Two today: Claude Code and Codex CLI. Kimi CLI, GLM and Gemini are in adaptation. Duegent drives the official CLI you already installed and logged into, and never touches its login credentials.

What if my engine quota runs out?

The agent says so plainly and switches to your backup engine in the order you set. If that one is capped too, it tells you the limit was hit and to retry later. It never fails silently.

Is the free tier actually usable?

Yes. Unlimited portfolios, unlimited manual chat, a briefing every trading day, the full signal panel and dashboard. Self-Host inference runs on your own engine, so we have no reason to meter it.

How is this different from asking ChatGPT?

A chatbot has no memory of your holdings, no sourced and timestamped market pipeline, no reproducible math, and no record of being right or wrong. Duegent adds all four on top of the model, scores its own hit rate, and coaches your questions the other way too: its suggested questions are built from your positions and today's signals, not conversation filler.

Why does it sometimes suggest a better way to ask?

Because the ceiling on any answer is the question. Anyone can answer "how's Micron" — and it shows. "What's my position's exposure in this drawdown" is a question only your holdings and computed signals can answer. So vague questions get guided alternatives under the reply; a precise question just gets its answer, no coaching. The angles you adopt are remembered: they steer how your agent evolves.

Your positions deserve research you can check.
