This page explains exactly what Duegent stores in your browser and why. For our own functionality we use localStorage rather than traditional cookies, and we use no third-party advertising cookies of any kind.
1. What We Store
Everything below lives in your browser's localStorage. Strictly necessary items are required for the Service to work (signing in, keeping your session, remembering your consent choice) and need no consent under GDPR.

2. Analytics (Not Yet Active)
We plan to run self-hosted Umami analytics on infrastructure we control. Umami is cookieless: it sets no cookies, does no cross-site tracking, and the data never leaves our environment. It is not yet deployed — today, no analytics runs at all.
When it launches, how it applies depends on your region:
- EU / EEA / UK — opt-in. Analytics is off by default; nothing loads until you choose to allow it in the consent banner. Choosing essential-only keeps it off.
- Other regions (Americas, Asia, etc.) — on by default under legitimate interest, because the measurement is cookieless and non-identifying. You can opt out at any time.
An explicit choice you make always wins, in every region. We detect your region from your browser's timezone (no IP address is sent anywhere), and treat any European or undetectable timezone as consent-required, to err on the side of consent.
3. No Third-Party Ad Cookies
We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, advertising tags, or any other third-party tracking service. If you sign in with Google, Google may set its own cookies under its own privacy policy; Paddle's checkout loads only when you actively start a purchase.
4. Changing Your Choice
Use the "Cookie settings" link in the footer at any time: it clears your stored decision, and where your region requires a choice, the consent banner reappears so you can decide again. You can also clear the tl:cookie-consent entry via your browser settings. Note that blocking strictly necessary storage will prevent you from staying signed in.
